These two concrete benches and boulders, embedded with handmade sculptural ceramics and river stones, are located in the Old Town San Diego State Historic Park as part of the Tipai Kumeyaay Mut Niihepok (Land of the First People) interpretive area. A story is told through the progression of images of the Kumeyaay living along in the San Diego river valley. This layout is intended to entwine awareness of pre-contact cultural practices into the contemporary and amplify an appreciation of the Kumeyaay people and culture.
